Lord Parshvanatha is the 23rd Tirthankara of Jainism, born in Varanasi to King Ashvasena and Queen Vama of the Ikshvaku dynasty. He embraced renunciation at the age of 30 and practiced austerities, attaining enlightenment on the 84th day. At the age of 100, he attained salvation at Sammed Shikharji (Jharkhand). He has blue skin with a serpent symbol and is considered the originator of the four major vows (non-violence, truth, non-stealing, and non-possession).
